Our Story
A Shared Purpose. A Cleaner Botswana.
A Shared Purpose. A Cleaner Botswana.
Tshole Trust began with a commitment to protect Botswana’s environment from pollution caused by used oil. From its beginnings as a project within an environmental organisation, it has developed into a platform for cooperation between industry, government and communities.
Turning Commitment into Action
Over the years, our work has combined collection infrastructure, public education and stakeholder partnerships.
By our 21st anniversary in 2022, Tshole Trust was recognised for installing 31 used oil collection tanks across Botswana. These facilities helped communities access designated places to deposit used oil for subsequent recovery and recycling.
Our journey has also included awareness campaigns and collaboration with government departments on pollution prevention and environmental rehabilitation. Support from lubricant marketers, collection companies and other partners has helped sustain this work.
Our Story Continues
The purpose that brought Tshole Trust into being continues to guide us: improving used oil management and encouraging environmental responsibility.
We remain committed to bringing people and organisations together to protect Botswana’s soil, water and communities.
